It’s normal to accidentally inhale or ingest some water while swimming, if you’re not wearing your nose plugs. While it feels icky at first, you get used to it. But not if you’re unsure what else the water might contain!
We’ll let your imagination think of all the horrible contaminants that are part of the water in community pools. Even with a running filtration system and routine cleaning, you can never be sure how clean a public pool is. After all, there are more than a few people—and their medical conditions, bodily secretions, and physical hygiene—sharing the pool.
If you bump into someone in the community pool, you can’t guess the last time they showered or the last thing they ate. Needless to stay, you have good reason to feel uncomfortable and unsafe while sharing a pool with someone else.
If you’re a frequent swimmer, you should think about investing in an in-house pool. It’s definitely more hygienic for a number of reasons.
You Decide Who Enters The Pool
Since it’s your private pool, you’ll decide who enters the pool and when. Even if you welcome outsiders into your house for a pool party, they’ll be trusted friends and family members. If there’s one thing you’re certain about them, it’s their sense of hygiene. You can limit the number of people that enter the pool at the same time and the age groups that are mingling with you.
You Clean It Regularly
Since the pool is on your estate, it’s your responsibility to maintain its cleanliness. You can do that by keeping an eye on the performance of the filtration system, plumbing pipes, temperature controls and drainage. Since the charge of maintaining hygiene standards for your personal pool is in your hands, you can get it cleaned as frequently as you wish, especially before and after an event at the pool.
You Get To Keep A Check On Kids
If you have kids of your own or invite some of your friends for a pool party, you’ll have to keep your guard up at all times. Little ones tend to answer nature’s calls inside the water or puke right there if they feel sick. While such incidents are rare, they’re still manageable as long as the pool is on your property. Sending your kids to a kid’s pool is not entirely as safe as you think. The urine-detection dyes don’t always give accurate results and you may mistakenly let your child jump into a urine-contaminated pool. With a personal pool, all these problems can be controlled better.
You Take Safety Precautions
Your pool, your call. If you know that someone among your friends or family has a skin condition, you know that they’ll never enter the pool and jeopardize the safety of others. To make them feel included, you can also make special arrangements for them if they wish to take a dip in the pool. Offer them a separate pool time or invite them another day. With close people, you can trust that they too will have your best interest at heart. But you can’t expect similar consideration from strangers.
