One of the major problems parents complain about is the excessive usage of digital devices by children these days. Around 60% of kids under the age of 18 in the United States have access to the Internet at home.
Rather than engage in physical games at the playground, children are more occupied with the digital space, through social media and online multiplayer games. A swimming pool is one way parents can take their kids off the Internet and give a healthy and exciting distraction that has benefits for their health. Children can enjoy a lot of games in the pool, and a few are mentioned below.
Pool Ball Race
Each contestant will be given a beach ball, and they will have to push it along with them as they swim to the edge of the pool. The first one to get there wins the race. The only other rules are no throwing is allowed; you have to carry the ball with you.

Also, you can’t obstruct the other player’s ball. Focus on your game and get to the end as fast as you can. You can make the game more interesting by adding more laps to it.
Catch Em’ All
For this game, you require a large bag of ping pong balls. Dump them all into the pool and let the kids din. Whoever collects the most wins; it’s that simple.

A similar game could be played with coins, but they will sink to the bottom of the pool, so it’s recommended to do so in the shallow end for younger kids or inexperienced swimmers.
What’s The Time, Mr. Fox?
This one’s a classic and can be played in a pool as well. One of the players is chosen as Mr. Fox and stands at one edge of the pool with their back facing the other end. The other players stand at the other edge and ask, “What time is it, Mr. Fox?” and Mr. Fox tells them a specific time, such as 1 PM or 3 PM, which translates to the other players having to move one or three steps forward respectively.
The game goes on until Mr. Fox replies to the kids with the phrase “Dinnertime,” which allows Mr. Fox to turn around and chase the other players. If another player is tagged before reaching the other side, they are the new Mr. Fox for the next round.
